Baikhora, June 11 – Marking a major push for regional development, Tripura ministers inaugurated two key infrastructure projects on Wednesday, aiming to boost local livelihoods and public welfare.

Minister for ARDD, Fisheries, and SC Welfare, Shudhangshu Das, along with Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, led the inauguration of a newly constructed two-storey fish market at Baikhora Bazar. The market, built with an investment of Rs 1.5 crore, is expected to benefit both traders and fish farmers by providing a structured platform for marketing their produce.

The event was attended by Secretary of the State Fisheries Department, Deepa D. Nair, Jolaibari Block Panchayat Samiti Chairman Tapas Dutta, Vice Chairman Keshab Chowdhury, and several other dignitaries.

Speaking at the occasion, Minister Das encouraged citizens to utilize various government schemes aimed at promoting self-reliance, stressing that financial independence should not solely depend on government jobs.

Following the inauguration, Minister Das also opened a newly built veterinary hospital in Betaga, constructed under the Public Works Department at a cost of Rs 81.82 lakh.

Minister Noatia, Santirbazar Municipal Council Chairman Sapna Baidya, Vice Chairman Satyabrata Saha, and other officials accompanied him during the ceremony.

Highlighting the government’s dedication to animal welfare, Minister Das informed the public about the 1962 helpline that offers free medical assistance for domestic animals. He also noted the availability of essential vaccines for livestock, stating that the new hospital would play a vital role in supporting the local farming community.

Minister Noatia emphasized the development of the Jolaibari Assembly Constituency, citing the completion of long-pending market projects as a sign of progress.

The day concluded with a tree plantation drive in front of the veterinary hospital, reinforcing the government’s environmental commitment.
