Dr. Saha said this today after attending the State-level conference on the outcome of the DGsP/IGsP Conference-2025 at Pragna Bhavan.

Dr. Saha who is also home minister of the state said that today’s event is a follow-up conference to the recently held DGsP and IGsP conference at Raipur.

“There, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and all the DGs and IGs were present. Detailed discussions were held about our country and some specific states. As our internal security faces various threats and crimes are taking place in different ways, discussions were held on how protests are being funded by specific NGOs and foreign countries, providing logistic support. A detailed discussion took place,” said Dr. Saha.

He said that the police are the front runners.

“Now police are not only dealing with crimes but also working in areas of accidents, disasters, mass management, etc. Police reach first. People want peace. After Operation Sindoor, many foreign countries have come, where External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said we don’t need suggestions but partners. In our country, we have everything; we don’t give suggestions to anyone. Before 2014, the situation of the country was not stable. India was surrounded by Pakistan and China. Attempts were made to weaken India, especially by Pakistan. Many BSF, CRPF, and police personnel were martyred. This cannot continue,” he said.

Dr. Saha said that this time PM Modi and the Home Minister have given suggestions and directions, and among these, over 70% have already been implemented in Tripura.

“We are on the right track—this has been proven. However, we must strengthen it further. Today I told all the senior officers that if PM Modi is talking about a new India, why can’t we form a new Tripura? Since the police are the frontrunners, their help is essential. Police must read the guidelines given by PM Modi. I also said that maintaining democracy will strengthen law and order. Police should be pro-people. The uniform is an ornament, and officers should be proud of it. Their facial expressions should also be pro-people. I have appealed to make Tripura a model and an example of better law and order, and Tripura Police have the capacity. I rarely interfere in police work, and the government also doesn’t, which is a golden opportunity to make Tripura a model state in India,” said Dr. Saha.

During the event, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, DGP Anurag, and other officials were present.
