The Minister made the remarks after chairing a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat on Monday. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Transport Department as well as representatives from the Public Works Department (PWD), Rural Development Department, the Housing Board, and various construction agencies involved in ongoing projects.

During the meeting, Chowdhury reviewed the progress of several important infrastructure initiatives aimed at strengthening the transport system in the state. Among the key projects discussed was the construction of a new Transport Commissionerate office in Agartala, which is expected to improve administrative efficiency and provide better services to the public.

The Minister also highlighted plans for establishing new District Transport Offices (DTOs) in multiple districts to decentralize services and make transport-related facilities more accessible to people living outside the state capital. In addition, modern motor stands are being developed at different locations across the state to improve passenger amenities and streamline public transport operations.

Chowdhury emphasized that these initiatives form part of the government’s broader vision to transform the transportation infrastructure of Tripura. He instructed all concerned departments and agencies to ensure that the construction work maintains strict quality standards while adhering to the stipulated timelines for completion.

“Quality and accountability must remain our top priorities. Infrastructure development should not only be timely but also durable and efficient,” the Minister said while reviewing the progress of the projects.

He also directed officials and implementing agencies to submit Utilization Certificates immediately after the completion of projects. This, he said, would help maintain transparency in financial management and ensure accountability in the execution of government-funded works.

“These projects are not merely about constructing buildings or facilities. They are about improving the daily lives of citizens, strengthening connectivity, and supporting economic growth in Tripura,” Chowdhury stated.

The Minister expressed confidence that once completed, the new infrastructure projects would significantly enhance transport services, improve accessibility, and provide modern facilities to commuters across the state in the coming months. 🚍🏗️
