Tripura Governor meets Bangladesh Asst High Commissioner

Agartala, Oct 15 — Mr. Hasan AI Bashaar Abdul Ulayee, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Tripura, Dr. Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday morning.

During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on the long-standing relationship between India and Bangladesh, with a particular focus on enhancing people-to-people contact and promoting socio-economic cooperation between Tripura and the neighbouring country. The discussion also touched upon ongoing cross-border trade initiatives, cultural exchange programmes, and developmental collaborations that have been instrumental in strengthening bilateral ties.

Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu warmly welcomed the visiting envoy and appreciated the continued efforts of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in fostering goodwill and cooperation between the two nations. He highlighted Tripura’s unique geographical and cultural proximity with Bangladesh and expressed optimism about expanding partnerships in areas such as education, health, tourism, and connectivity.

Mr. Ulayee, in turn, conveyed his appreciation for the Government of India and the Tripura administration for extending consistent support and hospitality to the Bangladeshi mission and its people. He reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to further deepen the historic and friendly relations that the two countries share.

The meeting was marked by a spirit of cordiality and mutual respect, reflecting the deep-rooted bonds that have evolved over decades between India and Bangladesh. Both sides agreed on the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration for regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

The courtesy call concluded with the exchange of mementos and assurances of sustained engagement between the office of the Governor of Tripura and the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala.
