During the visit, the Chief Minister was briefed on the overall power supply and distribution management in the state and conducted an on-site inspection. He highlighted that the State Load Dispatch Center continuously monitors the power generation, transmission, and distribution companies to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers. The center’s compliance with cybersecurity norms has earned it an ISO certificate from the central government, a significant achievement for the state.

Dr. Saha noted that Tripura is the only state in the Northeast that supplies electricity to Bangladesh. The government is committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply to consumers and has taken initiatives to replace old power lines. The use of solar energy as an alternative source is also being encouraged.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over incidents of attacks on electricity workers and urged the public to refrain from such acts.

Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, who accompanied the Chief Minister, mentioned that the National Load Dispatch Center under the central government has five regional load dispatch centers, and the state’s center works in coordination with these regional centers. The State Load Dispatch Center serves as a coordinating agency among the state’s power generation, transmission, and distribution companies to ensure quality and uninterrupted power supply.

Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited Managing Director Bishwajit Basu and General Manager of Tripura Power Transmission Limited, Ranjan Debbarma, were also present during the inspection. Debbarma provided a detailed briefing on the functioning of the State Load Dispatch Center.
