Tripura government announced festival grant and advance

Agartala, September 21: To add color to Durgotsav celebrations, Tripura government has come up with good news for government employees and contractual workers. The state government has announced festive grants and advances for government employees and contractual workers. Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy announced this in a press conference today and said that compared to other years, this year, regardless of the employee category, the salary has been increased by 300 rupees. It will cost the Tripura government 36 crore rupees.

According to him, Rs.20000 for Group-A, Group-B, Group-C, Group-D, DRW (Group-C) and DRW (Group-D), Rs.5000 for Anganwadi Workers-Helpers and Home Guards. He said that 2000 rupees will be given in advance for the festival workers.

He claimed that group-C, group-D, DRW, pensioners will be given festival grant of Rs.1800. Contractual workers, Anganwadi worker-assistants, home guards and SPOs will be given festival grant of Rs.2000. A total of 1 lakh 97 thousand 176 employees of various categories will benefit from it. This festival donation and festival advance will help people of all faiths to celebrate the festival.

According to him, festival grants and festival advances will be available for celebrating Durga Puja, Christmas, Garia Puja, Buddha Purnima, Eid-Uz-Joha, Eid-ul-Fitr, Bengali New Year, Mahavir Jayanti, Guru Nanak’s birthday.

He said that the amount of this festival grant was Rs 700 in the financial year 2017-18, which was increased to Rs 1000 in the financial year 2018-19. Moreover, it has been increased to Rs 1500 and Rs 1700 in FY 2022-23. This year another increase of Rs.300 has been made.

Apart from this, the amount of festival advance where in 2017-18 financial year was Rs 4 thousand to Rs 5 thousand. It has been increased up to Rs 20 thousand in the financial year 2022-23. He claimed that Anganwadi workers and helpers did not get festival advance in the past. But from the financial year 2021-22, they have been given 5 thousand rupees, he said.

He added that in the financial year 2022-23, home guards and Asha workers have also been arranged to pay 5 thousand and 2 thousand rupees in advance for the festival. The festival advance amount will remain unchanged this year as well.
