In the press conference, the minister said that every political party has the right to call hartal through democratic means. However, he said, it is not right to create problems for common people in this way. Hence, the state government has decided that the examination will be conducted as earlier conducted in TBSE board in both Bengali and Roman scripts. Although the Chief Minister himself has written to the CBSE Board Chairman, there has been no response yet. So the state government is yet to take any decision regarding the CBSE board exams.

In the press conference, the minister also said that the statistics of the last few years show that the number of students participating in the examination in Roman script is less than 2 percent. That is why this decision has been taken. But the state government does not disrespect any language. So it has been decided to conduct the exam in both Bengali and Roman script with respect to each language. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury also appealed to the TSF leadership to call off the strike.
