Agartala, July 23: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday welcomed the Centre’s decision to establish fast-track courts to deal with question paper leak cases, describing it as a landmark initiative that will protect the interests of millions of students and strengthen the credibility of India’s examination system.

Reacting to the announcement, Dr. Saha said the decision, taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflects the Union government’s commitment to safeguarding the hard work, merit and future of students across the country. He said swift and stringent legal action against those involved in examination malpractices would act as a strong deterrent and send a clear message that attempts to jeopardise the aspirations of young people will not be tolerated.

The Chief Minister observed that question paper leaks severely damage the credibility of competitive examinations and recruitment processes, causing uncertainty and hardship for deserving candidates. He said the creation of fast-track courts would ensure quicker disposal of such cases, strengthen accountability and reinforce transparency in the conduct of public examinations.

Dr. Saha expressed confidence that the move would restore public faith in the examination system while encouraging honest and hardworking students who rely on merit to secure educational and employment opportunities.

“Merit must remain the sole criterion for success. This initiative will ensure that the examination process is protected from malpractice and that those responsible for paper leaks are brought to justice without delay,” he said.

In a post on social media, the Chief Minister described the decision as “another historic and encouraging step by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” He stated that by ensuring swift, stringent and uncompromising justice, the Centre has made it clear that no one would be spared for playing with the dreams and aspirations of the country’s youth.

The announcement has received a positive response in Tripura, with educationists, students and various organisations welcoming the move as a significant reform aimed at protecting the integrity of competitive examinations and recruitment processes. Many believe that the establishment of fast-track courts will help prevent future examination malpractices, enhance transparency and reinforce public confidence in the fairness of the country’s education and recruitment systems.
