Agartala: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that people who speak only in Hindi and talk about thansa are very problematic for Tripura, and some are dreaming of becoming the Chief Minister of the state. The way the reign of anarchy and corruption is going on in TTAADC without becoming the Chief Minister, people can understand what will happen if they become the Chief Minister.

Dr. Saha said this while welcoming 1,336 families comprising 3,189 voters who joined the BJP at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan.

Dr. Saha said that for a long time these people were in a party which was used to provoking others, but now they have joined the BJP, which is a holy party.

“Today we spoke in our mother tongue and for that we feel proud. We generally speak about Thansa, but nobody knows the language of Thansa. Then from where have such leaders come? Some persons speak only in Hindi and Devanagari then what kind of leader is he? We have leaders like Rebati Tripura and Bikas Debbarma who speak in Kokborok. We also have leaders like Santana Chakma who can speak Kokborok as well as the Chakma language. If anyone wants to be a Thansa leader, then they should be well aware of the language. It has been a long time that they don’t speak in the language. You should understand who your leader is,” said Dr. Saha.

He said that people cry only once when someone really hurts them, but crying every day is acting performed by actors and actresses. It is an art and not possible for everyone.

“Some people used school-going students over the script issue, while during discussions with us they changed their tune. They say something and do another thing. For a long time they said they don’t want to be Chief Minister, but that the next Chief Minister will be from the tribal community and for Thansa. However, yesterday he said that he wants to be Chief Minister. This is nothing but an attempt to confuse people. Under the direction of the central leadership, I have said that the Roman script is not possible, and the state leaders were also present at that time. Hindi wala Thansa is problematic for Tripura. If your party attacks our people and our karyakartas, then why should we fulfil your demands?” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that the time of monarchy ended long ago and now it is the time of democracy.

“What do you have without communal provocation? Some are dreaming of becoming the Chief Minister of the state. The way the ADC has created a reign of anarchy and corruption without becoming the Chief Minister, people can understand what will happen if they become the Chief Minister. That is why the tribal brothers and sisters are placing their trust in the BJP. I always say Tipra Motha is our partner. Come, sit and talk. But that does not mean you will attack us and hatch conspiracies. People have understood everything. People have faith in the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In our state there are 12 ministers, and among them 5 are from the Janajati community. The TPSC chairman is also from the Janajati community, and the Speaker will also be from the Janajati community. If you want development and progress for the Janajati people, that can be done only by the BJP. Nobody can suppress the BJP. We have undertaken a series of projects for the Janajati people,” said Dr. Saha.

During the event, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, former MP Rebati Tripura, Minister Bikas Debbarma, Santana Chakma, and others were present.
