The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of yoga practitioners, including school students, sportspersons, security personnel, and members of the general public. Similar yoga sessions were held simultaneously across multiple venues in the state, underscoring the widespread appeal and significance of the practice.

Speaking to the media after the session, Chief Minister Dr. Saha credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating yoga to the global stage. “Yoga helps us understand ourselves better and protects us from various ailments—physical, mental, and spiritual. It fosters inner peace, harmony, and well-being. Practicing yoga daily is beneficial not just for individuals, but for the nation as a whole,” he said.

Sports Minister Tinku Roy highlighted the scale of this year’s celebration, noting that yoga sessions were being held simultaneously at over one lakh locations across India, with participation from ten other countries as well. “This initiative is likely to set a new world record and significantly boost global awareness about the benefits of yoga,” Roy said.

He added that iconic yoga sessions were also organized at Tripura’s historic landmarks, including Unakoti and Neermahal, with active participation from ministers and Members of Parliament.

The day-long celebration across Tripura reflected the state’s growing commitment to promoting yoga as a tool for holistic health, discipline, and spiritual growth, in line with the national movement.
