Agartala July 9: TomTom driver arrested for stealing gold chain from old woman’s lane. Later, the old woman and her family members lodged a complaint with the West Police Station. The incident happened in Mantribari Road area of the capital. It is learned that Gauri Das, a resident of Mantribari Road, was walking in front of a spectacles shop on her personal business.

At that time a TomTom driver came and asked the woman to get on the wheel to help. The old woman agreed to his words and went to the Post Office Choumuhani fruit shop. But when the shop was closed, Giridhari bought fruit from another fruit shop opposite the sweet shop then returned home. The TomTom driver cajoled the old Gouri Das into delivering the bags home. On reaching the front of the house, the necklace was snatched away. Gauri Das was terrified by this incident. Return home and tell your husband. After collecting the CCTV footage of the house, the police investigated and arrested the accused TomTom driver Sanjay Karmakar. The gold chain was recovered from him. His house is in Ramnagar area. He will be taken to court on Monday, said Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer. Police are investigating if anyone else is involved with him.
