Dharmanagar, Oct 9 — In a major boost to healthcare infrastructure in North Tripura, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Tinku Roy on Thursday inaugurated PALS Diagnostics’ first state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory in Dharmanagar. The new facility marks a significant step toward expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare services across the state.
Equipped with fully automated testing systems, the lab offers a wide range of diagnostic services in biochemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and molecular diagnostics. It aims to provide patients with faster and more accurate results, supported by digital report delivery systems for greater convenience.
Officials from PALS Diagnostics announced that the company plans to invest Rs 20 crore over the next two years to expand its network and upgrade diagnostic capabilities across Tripura. “The Dharmanagar lab will cater not only to North Tripura but also to adjoining regions of Assam and Mizoram, ensuring faster turnaround times and reliable testing closer to home,” said a company representative.
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Tinku Roy lauded the initiative as a “significant relief” for residents of North Tripura and Unakoti districts. “People will no longer have to send samples to Agartala or outside the state for advanced testing. This facility will save time, reduce costs, and improve healthcare accessibility for the region’s people,” he said.
The district administration welcomed the project, highlighting its role in generating local employment opportunities and strengthening healthcare outreach in the Northeast. Authorities expressed confidence that the initiative would help bridge the diagnostic gap in rural and semi-urban areas, paving the way for a more resilient healthcare system in Tripura.
