Explaining the significance of the SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment electronic Box) portal, Roy said the centralized digital platform was developed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to enable women to register workplace sexual harassment complaints under the PoSH Act, 2013. He noted that the recently upgraded portal offers a more user-friendly interface and facilitates monitoring of complaints from both organized and unorganized sectors.

“The government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working tirelessly to make women self-reliant and empowered. In Tripura, schemes under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission have sanctioned nearly Rs 2,100 crore in recent years to skill and train women for sustainable livelihoods,” Roy stated.

He also highlighted new initiatives such as SHE Marts (Self-help Entrepreneur Marts), announced in the Union Budget 2026–27, which will enable rural women’s Self Help Groups to operate community-owned retail outlets. These outlets will provide platforms to market handicrafts, farm produce, and processed foods directly to consumers, complementing the objectives of the Lakhpati Didi programme aimed at helping rural women earn at least Rs 1 lakh annually.

The workshop trained nodal officers, HR professionals, and Internal Committee members on complaint registration and tracking through the portal, legal compliance requirements for organizations with 10 or more employees, employer responsibilities in ensuring safe workplaces, and awareness modules defining sexual harassment and redressal procedures.

The event was attended by Jharna Debbarma and Special Secretary Tapan Kumar Das, among other senior officials, reinforcing the government’s commitment to empowering women socially, economically, and professionally.
