The suspects—Abdul Mita, a resident of Rani village in Karimganj district; Borhan Uddin, hailing from Ratabari in the same district; and Janab Ali, also from Rani village—were found in possession of a staggering 55,000 Yaba tablets. During questioning, they admitted to their involvement in drug trafficking.

Superintendent of North District Police, Vhanupada Chakraborty, highlighted the potency of these tablets, explaining that their effects last for three days. Yaba, a notorious stimulant, is often associated with antisocial activities. The illicit tablets are believed to originate from Myanmar, with an estimated black market value of approximately Rs 5 crore.

The arrested individuals are currently in custody at the Bagbasa police station, where a case has been registered, and investigations are underway. Authorities remain vigilant in their efforts to curb drug-related crimes in the region.
