Agartala June 23: A mass movement at Tipra Matha was held on Friday under the leadership of opposition leader Animesh Debbarma, alleging that the BJP-IPFT coalition government is looting. Tula Shikhar Bloc was agitated in this movement. On this day, a public deputation was given to Mara Singh, the video man of Khowai Tula Shikhar block, on behalf of the Tipra Matha party, with a 10-point demand. Based on this deputation, the supporters of Tipra Matha party started coming from different places from 10 o’clock in the morning to Chowhamuni Bazar in Champahao. Finally, around 12 noon, a procession came out from the Champahwar 12th standard school grounds.
On this day, the deputation-oriented procession started from the school grounds and ended at Tulasikhar block. On this day, MLA of the area and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Animesh Debbarma, MDC Ananta Debbarma, Ramchandra Ghat MLA Ranjit Debbarma, MLA Sapna Debbarma and various zonal and sub-zonal chairmen. Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma said that the current government of the state is running the trade of loot. In protest of this, deputation was given on some demands by protest march. Demands were made for survey of BPL cards, provision of drinking water, construction of culverts for communication at various places, investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities in recruitment of Anganwadi workers and helpers, increase in raga wages. He also said that the BJP and IPF coalition government is depriving the common people of the way they are running the trade of booty. But the police prevented the procession from reaching the gate of Tulasikhar Block. Thousands of supporters of Tipra Matha started clashing with the police. Later, the workers broke the police barricade and entered inside the Tulashikhar block. Later, the workers of Matha heated up the atmosphere inside the block. To bring the situation under control, a nine-member delegation deputed ten-point demands to Manash Mura Singh, BDO of Tula Shikhar Block.
