Agartala: Feb 08: Voting process for 2023 assembly polls has started through postal ballot for work-related poll workers, security personnel and TSR jawans including motorists and emergency services workers. 40,000 have applied to Phone Twelve till Tuesday. The voting process will continue for five days. 13 rooms at Shishu Bihar School in the capital are being used for postal ballots for 8 assembly constituencies under Sadar subdivision. On the first day, a large number of Korobi and defense workers turn up to cast their votes through postal ballots. 23 places in the state are similarly voting through postal ballots.All arrangements have been made to ensure that all polling staff can exercise their right to vote properly. The Chief Electoral Officer urged all the workers who have not yet filled and submitted Form Twelve to fill and submit the form immediately. Initiatives have been taken to ensure that no employee is deprived of the privilege of voting by postal ballot. He said that any employee will be able to vote if they apply before 4 pm on February 12. The main work of voting will start from February 13. As it was the first day, it took some time to exchange the ballots. So the polling phase is going on a bit slow. However, all those who came to vote on this day will be accepted.
