Agartala, September 26: The birth anniversary of Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar was celebrated with due dignity by the State Department of Information Culture. Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar and others offered floral tributes to the statue of Vidyasagar at Drop Gate today.
On this day, Deepak Majumdar said that Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar has taken an important role in social reform and building society. The only objective is to present the literature and art of Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar to the future. He said that the government is constantly working to present the biographies of special personalities to the future generations.
