Agartala: Nov 24: In 2022, candidates who passed the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) protested outside the Chief Minister’s residence in Agartala, demanding employment. On Sunday, a large group of TET-qualified job seekers took this step to press for a meeting with the Chief Minister regarding recruitment matters.

For a long time, the state government has not taken any significant steps to provide jobs for these TET-qualified candidates, despite their repeated appeals. Several attempts were made by the candidates to meet with the Chief Minister, but none of them yielded any positive results.

As of now, nearly 300 TET-qualified youths are still unemployed and waiting for job opportunities. However, their wait seems endless as they continue to be shuffled around various departments without any resolution.

On the day of the protest, tensions escalated in front of the Chief Minister’s residence, with the TET candidates becoming agitated. The situation created significant unrest in the area. To control the situation, the police arrived and forcibly detained the protesters, taking them away from the scene. The incident highlights the growing frustration among unemployed youths who are demanding immediate action from the state government regarding their employment.
