Agartala: Sept 20: Tension has erupted in the Banshpukur area under Yatrapur police station following the abduction of a 13-year-old seventh-grade girl. On Wednesday, the girl was reportedly abducted by Humayun Kabir of Sonamura NC Nagar and several other youths while she was returning home from school.

The girl’s family filed a kidnapping case against Humayun Kabir at Yatrapur police station. However, even after 72 hours, the police have not arrested the accused or rescued the girl. There are allegations that the police are harassing the girl’s family instead of taking action.

On Friday morning, students of Banshpukur High School and local residents blocked the Sonamura Kathalia road, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and the rescue of the girl. Yatrapur police arrived at the scene and attempted to persuade the protesters, who insisted on immediate action. The police requested two more days, but the protesters refused to grant this time.
