Agartala July 16: The teenager chose to commit suicide because he was proud of his mother. It is known that a 16-year-old boy named Sukanta Das was seriously injured after pouring kerosene on his body and setting himself on fire because he did not get money from his mother to go to PC’s house in Manu area on Saturday. Kishore’s mother said Sukanta asked her mother for 300 rupees to go to PC’s house in Gandhigram.

But Sukanta Das’s mother expressed inability to pay that money. He said that after a few days he will pay 300 rupees to Sukanta Das after receiving money from Rega’s work. Then after eating and drinking, Sukanta entered the house and set his body on fire. His mother heard his son’s screams and found him on fire. He was immediately rescued and taken to the hospital. From there he was referred to GB Hospital for better treatment. But the end was not saved. Sukanta Das died early Sunday morning while undergoing treatment. Later his body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. Relatives including parents of the deceased teenager broke down in tears at the hospital after losing their only son.
