Agartala: May 15: In a heartbreaking turn of events, Sujoy Munda, a student, took his own life after failing the higher secondary examination. The incident occurred in the Mundabasti area of Barabhaghai, within the Uttar Singicherra Gram Panchayat.

Around 11:30 am on Wednesday, Sujoy Munda, a student enrolled at Khowai Government English Medium School under the Vidya Jyoti project, succumbed to the immense pressure of academic disappointment. Having appeared for the higher secondary examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Sujoy received the disheartening news of his failure upon the release of the CBSE secondary and higher secondary results earlier this week.

The weight of this setback took a toll on Sujoy’s mental well-being. His parents expressed their disappointment, exacerbating his emotional distress. By Tuesday, Sujoy had stopped eating and drinking. Tragically, on Wednesday morning, he quietly left for work in the rubber garden near his home, accompanied by his father. There, he took his own life by hanging from a rubber tree, unbeknownst to his family.

Upon discovering Sujoy’s lifeless body, family members promptly alerted the Khoai police station. Authorities recovered the body and transported it to the morgue at Khoai District Hospital. The entire community now grapples with grief over this devastating loss.
