Agartala: Nov 29: The state government has not yet taken any decision to build a five-star hotel in the old palace. The whole matter is under discussion. This was stated by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in a press conference at the Secretariat today in response to the allegations of former TIPRA Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma.
Today, he said that the government of Tripura does not want to hurt anyone’s sentiments. The royal palace, Pushpabanta Palace, was once owned by the kings. But now it is the property of the Tripura government.
He sarcastically remarked that currently, in the state, weddings are being held and businesses are being run in properties built during the royal era. Pushpabanta Palace is not anyone’s personal property. Therefore, the government does not need to consult anyone to make a decision. Because it is now government property. There is no condition with anyone to not carry out any government project there. The state government wants the development of Tripura. Therefore, he appealed to the people to come forward and not hinder the government’s work.
