State government has taken initiative to make Tripura plastic free: Chief Minister

Agartala, July 15: The state government has taken initiative to make Tripura plastic free. This was said by Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha at the auspicious launch of the month-long Plastic Free Tripura campaign at Agartala Town Hall today. Also, on this day, he appealed to the general public to come forward to build a plastic-free Tripura.

On this day, the Chief Minister said that there are about 13,000 chemicals in plastic. According to research, there are about 3,200 chemicals in plastic that are very harmful to the human body. Therefore, the use of this type of plastic is causing various diseases in the human body.

 

He added that plastic has become a curse on the progress of human civilization. It is the responsibility and duty of the people to protect the environment. So appealed to all the people to come forward to build plastic free Tripura.

 

Besides, on this day, he urged the citizens to keep everything clean, keep the household garbage in a specific place instead of throwing it everywhere and take responsibility for the cleanliness of the area.
