Agartala: Jan 17: A special camp was held at the Bardowali Electricity Department on Friday to register for the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. The event was attended by the Minister of Power, Ratan Lal Nath, along with Electricity Secretary Abhishek Singh and the Managing Director of Tripura State Electricity Limited, Bishwajit Basu.

Following the inauguration by Minister Ratan Lal Nath, the camp saw a large turnout, with people from various regions participating to learn about the benefits and drawbacks of the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.

Minister Ratan Lal Nath addressed the attendees and later spoke to the media, emphasizing the scheme’s potential to promote self-reliance. He highlighted that the scheme would provide free electricity to households and allow customers to sell excess electricity if needed. Minister Ratan Lal Nath encouraged everyone to take advantage of this opportunity.

Despite the minister’s active promotion of the scheme, there is some hesitation among the public due to concerns about the high costs involved. The government has expressed its willingness to cooperate, but there are worries that customers who borrow from banks to participate in the scheme may face financial difficulties if they do not see a profit.
