Agartala, Nov 7 : Six young members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides from Tripura’s Ranirbazar have received the prestigious Rajya Puraskar Award from Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at a ceremony held at Lok Bhawan here on Saturday.
The awardees belong to three units under the Ranirbazar scouting fraternity — Ranirbazar Scouts Troop, Ranirbazar Open Rover Crew and Mother Teresa Ranger Crew.
The six recipients comprise three Scouts, two Rovers and one Ranger, who were recognised for their dedication, discipline and active participation in scouting activities.
The three Scouts honoured with the award are Kishan Rudra Paul, Abhi Debnath and Dipayon Debnath. Sourajit Goswami and Kishor Debnath received the distinction in the Rover category, while Jaya Debnath was recognised as a Ranger.
The recognition marks a significant achievement for the Tripura State Bharat Scouts and Guides (TSBSG), particularly its Ranirbazar-based units, which have been working to promote leadership, teamwork, self-confidence and social responsibility among young people.
The Rajya Puraskar is a state-level recognition in the Scouting and Guiding movement, acknowledging members for their commitment to its principles and active involvement in various activities.
Receiving the honour directly from the Governor at Lok Bhawan made the occasion particularly memorable for the six young achievers, their families and members of the scouting fraternity.
The achievement has generated enthusiasm among their families, Scout Leaders, Rover Scout Leaders, Ranger Leaders, educational institutions and other members of the scouting community in Ranirbazar.
Members of the Ranirbazar Scouts and Guides congratulated the awardees and expressed hope that their accomplishment would inspire other young people to join the movement and participate in community service.
They said the recognition would encourage more members to work towards similar achievements while upholding the core values of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, including discipline, leadership, service and responsible citizenship.
The scouting movement plays an important role in the overall development of young people by providing opportunities to acquire practical skills, develop confidence and contribute to society.
The six awardees are expected to serve as an inspiration for fellow members to pursue excellence and remain committed to the ideals of the organisation.
