Seventh Phase of Healthy Childhood, Healthy Adolescence Campaign Launched in Tripura

Ambassa, October 24, 2024 – The Chief Minister’s Healthy Childhood, Healthy Adolescence Campaign has entered its seventh phase, spearheaded by the National Health Mission and the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Tripura government. A state-level program was held at the Ambassa Town Hall, where Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp.

During the event, children and adolescents were administered deworming medicines, various vaccines, and other essential medications. The campaign aims to cover children aged 1 to 19 years, ensuring they receive necessary medical care from the Health Department.

Unokoti district was recognized for its successful implementation of the sixth phase of the campaign, receiving an award at the event.

In his address, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the importance of health for the future generation, stating that good health is crucial for children’s education and overall development. He highlighted the state’s progress in medical education, noting that Tripura now has a total of 400 seats in government and private medical colleges combined. Additionally, the state has established a dental college, which recently increased its seats from 50 to 63, with positive feedback from the central inspection team.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming Tripura into a medical hub.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dhलाई District Council Chairperson Susmita Das, MLA Chitta Ranjan Debbarma, BAC Chairman Parimal Debbarma, Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, and Ambassa Municipal Corporation Chairperson Gopal Sutradhar. The presence of officials from various departments, health workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and students from various schools was notable.
