Responding to the outcome of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, Manik Saha on Friday struck a measured and humble tone, expressing gratitude to party workers while affirming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would learn from the verdict and return stronger.

In an official statement, the Chief Minister extended “heartfelt gratitude to all the karyakartas of the BJP for their courage, hard work, and dedication” throughout the campaign. He acknowledged the tireless efforts of grassroots workers, noting that taking the party’s message symbolised by the lotus to every household across the state was, in itself, a significant achievement.

Dr. Saha also congratulated the victorious Tipra Motha Party and its candidates for their sweeping performance, describing the outcome as a clear reflection of the people’s democratic choice. He conveyed his best wishes to the party as it prepares to lead the council.

“While we accept the people’s mandate with humility, we see this as an opportunity to learn and come back stronger,” he said, underlining the importance of introspection, organisational strengthening, and reconnecting with voters.

Reaffirming the BJP’s core principles, the Chief Minister stressed that the party’s commitment to development, unity, and the welfare of all sections of society remains unwavering. He assured that the BJP would continue to work with renewed determination to serve the people of Tripura.

The final results, declared on Friday, confirmed a landslide victory for the Tipra Motha Party, which secured 24 out of 28 seats in the council. The BJP managed to win four seats, while parties such as CPI(M) and Congress failed to make any notable impact in the polls.

The TTAADC, constituted under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, administers nearly two-thirds of Tripura’s geographical area. It plays a critical role in the governance and socio-economic development of tribal communities, making the election outcome a significant milestone in the state’s evolving political landscape.
