Agartala, Feb 27: The Rural Development & Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI), Agartala, successfully concluded a 12-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Fast Food Making, aimed at promoting self-employment among rural unemployed youth and women in Tripura. The training was held from February 16 to 27, 2026, at the institute’s campus in AD Nagar, West Tripura.
Out of 56 applicants, 33 candidates from rural BPL families were selected and enrolled in the programme. All participants successfully completed the intensive course, which combined hands-on skill development with essential entrepreneurship inputs.
During the practical sessions, trainees learned to prepare a range of fast food and bakery products, including fruit cakes, chocolates, biscuits, namkeen items, cupcakes, jar cakes and other popular snacks. The sessions were conducted by Master Trainer Ms. Chaiti Dey, who provided live demonstrations and guided participants through preparation techniques and quality standards.
The programme was coordinated by Faculty Member Ms. Rashmi Baidya with support from Hopereng Debbarma. Biometric attendance and MIS management were handled by Office Assistant Sri Mithil Karmakar. In addition to technical skills, participants received entrepreneurship guidance, motivational sessions and interacted with a successful local entrepreneur to strengthen their business outlook.
Director Siddhartha Khan lauded the efforts of the faculty and organising team and congratulated the trainees for their dedication. Certificates were distributed upon successful completion of the course.
RUDSETI Agartala, a skill development initiative led by Canara Bank, continues to empower rural youth through structured training and capacity-building programmes, fostering grassroots entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood opportunities across Tripura.
