Quetta, March 5: Amid continuing unrest in Balochistan, rights groups have alleged fresh cases of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances, blaming Pakistani security forces for the incidents.

Paank, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement, on Thursday reported that the bullet-riddled body of Fateh Baloch was found in the Mashkai area of Awaran district, nearly two months after he was allegedly forcibly disappeared.

According to the organisation, Fateh, a pickup driver and sole breadwinner of his family, was detained on January 13 at a Frontier Corps (FC) checkpoint while travelling with passengers. His family claimed he was taken without a warrant or formal charges. For weeks, they sought information about his whereabouts but received no response.

Paank said the condition of his body indicated torture and unlawful detention, terming the case a “clear instance of extrajudicial killing” and part of a broader pattern of enforced disappearances in the province.

The group also highlighted the alleged abduction of Minwar Akhtar from Turbat’s Absar area in Kech district on Wednesday night. In a separate case, Zameer Ahmed from Panjgur district was reportedly taken by military intelligence personnel on March 3.

Meanwhile, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee stated that the body of 17-year-old Yahya Baloch was recovered from an FC camp in Panjgur on March 3. The organisation alleged he was killed hours after being taken from his home.

Rights groups say such incidents reflect a recurring pattern of disappearances followed by the recovery of bodies. They have urged the international community to press for accountability and justice for affected families.
