Agartala: Jan 16: The state government has initiated the construction of a new flyover in Agartala, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving transportation infrastructure in the city. This flyover will span from the Radhanagar Bus Stand to IGIM Hospital Chowmuhani, two key areas in the capital. The construction project is part of the state’s broader efforts to modernize and enhance urban infrastructure, addressing the growing traffic demands in the region.

To ensure the success of the project, the state government has formed an 11-member committee tasked with overseeing the flyover’s construction. This committee will be responsible for monitoring the progress of the project, ensuring quality standards, and making crucial decisions regarding the construction process.

Soil testing for the flyover has already commenced, with work currently being carried out at Colonel Chowmuhani. The soil testing is a critical step in the planning phase, as it will help assess the suitability of the ground for the construction of the flyover and provide valuable data for designing the structure. The successful completion of this testing will pave the way for further stages of construction.

The new flyover is expected to significantly reduce traffic bottlenecks in one of Agartala’s busiest zones, improve connectivity, and enhance the overall commuting experience for residents. With the groundwork already underway, the project marks an important step forward in the state’s efforts to improve its transportation network and support urban development.
