Recruitment process for Doctors and nurses currently under the purview of TPSC: Chief Minister

Agartala: April 01: On the seventh day of the budget session in the Legislative Assembly, in response to MLA Ashok Chandra Mitra’s question regarding the recruitment of doctors and nurses, Health Minister and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha shared important information. He stated that plans have been made to recruit various doctors and nurses under the Health and Family Welfare Department for the financial year 2025-26, and this process is currently under the purview of TPSC.

According to the Health Minister, initiatives have already been taken to fill 13 posts of Medical Officer (Ayurveda) in TAS Grade-IV, and this recruitment process is ongoing. Additionally, the process to fill six vacant posts of Medical Officer (Dental) in TDS Grade-IV is also underway.

Administrative activities are in progress to fill 332 vacant posts of Nursing Officer in the state’s Health Department. Furthermore, the department has taken steps to create and fill 100 new vacancies. The Chief Minister expressed hope that all these positions will be filled within the financial year 2025-26.

Through this recruitment process, the government aims to improve the quality of healthcare services and address the manpower shortage in the medical sector.
