Ahead of the Dharmanagar Assembly by-election, Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Sunday conducted an extensive door-to-door campaign along with BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty, expressing confidence in the party’s victory.
The campaign covered booth numbers 35 and 51 in Dharmanagar, where the Minister and the candidate interacted with residents, seeking support and highlighting the government’s development initiatives. Nath said the response from the public was overwhelmingly positive, indicating strong backing for the BJP.
“During today’s campaign, it was evident that people want the journey of development to continue. At every doorstep, we received smiles, blessings, and a sense of trust that reflects the confidence people have in our candidate,” Nath said while addressing the media.
He emphasized that the growing support for the BJP is a result of the development work carried out in Dharmanagar and across Tripura over the past few years. According to him, visible improvements in infrastructure and welfare schemes have strengthened the party’s connect with the electorate.
Highlighting key initiatives, Nath pointed to enhanced social pension schemes, distribution of free rice, housing under government projects, improved road connectivity, and access to drinking water. He noted that Dharmanagar has witnessed significant transformation, particularly in road infrastructure.
“I have visited Dharmanagar earlier, but the scale of development now is remarkable. Our priority has always been to work for the people, and that commitment is reflected in the support we are receiving,” he said.
The Minister also credited Narendra Modi for prioritizing inclusive development, stating that both the central and state governments are working with a focus on uplifting the last person in society.
Reiterating his optimism, Nath said the enthusiasm witnessed during the campaign clearly signals that the BJP is set to retain the seat, with voters endorsing its development agenda in the upcoming by-election.
