Raima Valley has witnessed a surge in political activity with the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections, widely expected to be held in April 2026. Although the official election schedule is yet to be announced, growing speculation over an April poll has prompted all major political parties to launch intensive campaigns across the region’s villages and hilly interiors.

Under the 44-Raima Valley Assembly constituency, two key ADC seats—No. 8 Ganganagar–Gandacherra and No. 24 Raima Valley—have emerged as major centres of political mobilisation. Leaders and party workers are actively engaging with local communities, holding meetings and organisational programmes in a bid to consolidate support well ahead of the polls.

The ruling Tipra Motha, led by party supremo Pradyot Kishore Manikya, has taken the lead with a series of public meetings, organisational drives, and grassroots outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening its hold in the area. The party is focusing on consolidating tribal support by highlighting its agenda and achievements in the ADC.

The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also intensified its campaign under the leadership of former Member of Parliament Rebati Tripura. Party sources indicated that sitting MDC Bhumiknanda Reang is likely to be renominated from the Ganganagar–Gandacherra seat, and he has already begun extensive door-to-door campaigning. The Raima Valley seat, however, remains open, with the BJP reportedly considering several prospective candidates.

The CPI(M) is equally active in the region, with senior leaders including former MLA Lalit Mohan Tripura, Dhananjay Tripura, Sushanta Hazari, and Sumati Ranjan Chakma working to revive and strengthen the party’s grassroots network. The Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), led by Prem Sadhan Tripura and Charanbasi Tripura, has also launched its campaign activities, while the Congress, through leaders Ranjit Tripura and Badal Sarkar, is making efforts to reclaim lost political ground.

Political observers note that the ADC elections in Raima Valley are shaping up to be a highly competitive, multi-cornered contest, with intense rivalry and growing public engagement already evident across the constituency.
