Chief Minister Dr. Saha said while witnessing a historic moment virtually from the Agartala Railway Station.

As part of the continued efforts towards Viksit Bharat, the PM virtually laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated to the nation various railway infrastructure projects, including 1500+ Road Over Bridges and Underpasses spread across 24 states, including Tripura.

“The rail communication across the country, including Tripura, witnessed a robust change under the leadership of PM Modi. We never thought that trains like Rajdhani Express and Vistadom would ply from Tripura. We now have around 17 express trains connecting different states. Earlier, we had to go to Guwahati or Howrah railway station, but now we can travel directly from Tripura. Prime Minister Narendra Modi always provides guarantees, and we can see the results here,” he said.

Dr. Saha further emphasized that PM Modi has consistently stated that India will not develop unless the Northeast is developed.

“In phase one, 508 railway stations were revamped, including 91 in the Northeast. In Tripura, three stations, including Dharmanagar, Kumarghar, and Udaipur, received an allocation of Rs 96.60 crore. In phase two, around seven stations are in the Northeast, and Rs 48 crores will be spent on the redevelopment of the Agartala railway station. We never thought that the Agartala Railway Station would become a world-class railway station. PM Modi consistently emphasizes that we must work for the people because we are here for the people. Earlier, we saw how the Northeast was neglected, but now the Northeast is on the path of development, and we have the HIRA Model,” said the Chief Minister.

He further stated that the future of Tripura is bright, and with the operationalization of the Maitri Setu, the face of Tripura will change, becoming the gateway to Southeast Asia.

“PM Modi means development. Our double-engine government always focuses on development. The electrification of railways work is almost complete. We have also demanded a double-lane track, and work has already started. After electrification, Vande Bharat will also operate,” he added.

During the program, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Pradma Shri Awardees including Smritirekha Chakma, Chitta Debbarma and Bikram Bahadur Jamatia and others were present.
