Efforts are underway to revive the stalled gas pipeline expansion work in the Sriramkhara area of Atharamura Hills under Mungiakami Block in the Krishnapur Assembly constituency of Teliamura sub-division. Although the gas pipeline network under the Indradhanush Project has been progressing in various parts of Tripura, the extension work in this region had remained halted for a long period due to multiple administrative and local challenges.

To address the prolonged delay, a high-level meeting involving the administration and concerned departments was held on Wednesday at the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Teliamura. The meeting was chaired by Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma and attended by SDM Apurba Krishna Chakraborty along with officials from various departments.

The discussions focused primarily on identifying the issues that have hindered the progress of the project. Sources said the work had been delayed due to land-related complications, connectivity problems and certain local concerns. The prolonged delay had reportedly caused dissatisfaction among residents who have been waiting for improved access to gas services.

During the meeting, Minister Debbarma emphasized that public welfare projects should not remain stalled indefinitely and directed officials to take prompt steps to find practical solutions. He stressed maintaining coordination between departments and local communities to ensure smooth implementation.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Minister said development initiatives are meant for public benefit and that existing challenges would be resolved through dialogue, expressing hope that the project would regain momentum soon.
