Agartala: Oct 03: A law and order meeting was held at Muktadhara Auditorium today in preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja, organized by the West District Police Administration.

Attendees included the District Magistrate of West Tripura, Dr. Vishal Kumar, the Superintendent of Police of West Tripura, Kiran Kumar K, the Director of the Department of Information and Culture, Bimbisar Bhattacharya, along with officials from other related departments, and presidents and general secretaries of various clubs and puja committees.

The meeting was initiated by the Additional Superintendent of Police of West Tripura, Chiranjib Chakraborty, who urged puja organizers to adhere to government guidelines. Dr. Vishal Kumar expressed hope for a joyful Durga Puja with the cooperation of the district administration, police, related departments, and clubs. He encouraged people to call the CM helpline 1905 for assistance. Kiran Kumar Ke sought everyone’s cooperation to ensure a peaceful celebration and emphasized the importance of having sufficient volunteers at puja pandals and following the 14 guidelines set by the state government.

Bimbisar Bhattacharya announced that the ‘Mayer Gomon’ (Mother’s Departure) ceremony will start from in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ High School (hostel) on October 14. Clubs and puja committees wishing to participate must submit their applications by October 7. He also mentioned that four categories of Sharad Samman awards will be given in West Tripura district and other districts of the state.

Dr. Bishnu Karmakar, Member Secretary of the Tripura State Pollution Control Board, urged clubs to follow noise pollution guidelines. Dr. Shankar Das, Joint Director of the Health Department, encouraged clubs to organize HIV/AIDS prevention awareness programs during Durga Puja and display related slogans. Other participants included the SDPO of Sadar subdivision, Maniklal Das, and the Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Subrata Banik. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Sadar subdivision, Maniklal Das, was also present.
