Agartala, Aug 4: A crucial preparatory meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Information and Culture Department (ICA) in Agartala ahead of the 78th Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The meeting was chaired by Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Director of the ICA Department, and attended by officials from Tripura Police, photojournalists, journalists, and key media professionals.
The main focus of the meeting was to coordinate media arrangements and ensure efficient coverage of the upcoming celebrations, particularly through photography and visual storytelling. The Director emphasized the importance of effective documentation to capture the patriotic fervor of the event.
Bhattacharya announced that the state-level Independence Day program will be held at the Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala. He informed that the Chief Minister will hoist the National Flag and inspect the ceremonial parade as part of the main event.
“To facilitate smooth coverage, photojournalists and other accredited media persons will be issued entry passes by August 13,” Bhattacharya assured. He also emphasized that all logistical arrangements for media personnel would be streamlined to prevent any disruption in coverage.
The Director underlined the media’s vital role in portraying the spirit of Independence Day to the wider public. He encouraged greater collaboration between government departments and media houses to ensure comprehensive and smooth dissemination of the celebrations.
During the session, inputs were also taken from photojournalists and reporters regarding technical and access requirements for covering the event. Discussions revolved around camera positions, movement zones, and the need for uninterrupted visibility during key moments like the flag hoisting and parade inspection.
The meeting concluded with a call for collective effort to make the Independence Day celebration a grand and well-documented event, reflecting the pride and unity of the nation.
