Agartala: May 16: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has highlighted the growing power crisis in the state. The surge in electricity consumption, driven by increased use of appliances like air conditioners, has created a significant gap between demand and supply. Unfortunately, the power infrastructure is struggling to handle the excessive load, resulting in frequent outages.
In a related matter, the Chief Minister clarified that the state government lacks the authority to regulate airfare. Meanwhile, the West Bengal election campaign has drawn widespread attention. Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha expressed optimism for the BJP, predicting they will secure 32 out of 42 seats in the state. Additionally, he believes the Prime Minister’s ambitious goal of crossing 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections will indeed be achieved.
Regarding airfare, the Chief Minister acknowledged that the central government is aware of the recent hikes. However, the state government remains powerless to control these changes, as airlines cite valid reasons for adjusting fares.
