Agartala: Oct 04: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project PM e-bus service is going to be launched in various cities across the country very soon. To realize this dream of the Prime Minister of the country, 10,000 e-buses will be deployed in different cities across the country. Prime Minister’s aim is to reduce pollution along with development of transport system. This time, the central government is going to launch ‘PM E bus service’ for this purpose. Recently, it has been decided in the Union Cabinet meeting that 10,000 electric buses will be run in 169 cities of the country.

Apart from this, infrastructure will be improved in 181 cities of the country. This entire project will cost 57 thousand 613 crores. Out of this, the Center will give Rs 20 thousand crores. The rest of the expenses are borne by the state. An integral feature of the PM e-bus service project is the adoption of a public-private partnership model for procurement and maintenance. So this e-bus will be run on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. This collaborative approach aims to ensure efficient management and optimal utilization of resources. Like other cities across the country, e-buses will also run in Agartala.

Apart from Agartala, the government also plans to run e-buses in other cities. In order to effectively implement this e-bus service, various aspects related to it need to be prepared in advance. It is very necessary to improve the infrastructure of various bus depots in the introduction of e-buses, so that no problem is faced in the use of e-buses. State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over an important meeting at the Secretariat today regarding various details related to the launch of e-bus services. Multimodal Intercharge services at various bus depots are very much needed for the launch of e-buses. The Transport Minister also discussed this important issue with the officials present in the meeting. Moreover, in some areas, there is more need for buses, where there are more infrastructural facilities, where there is deficiency, the issues that are also discussed in detail in the meeting.

While discussing in the meeting, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that if this e-bus transport service is launched in other cities of the state including the capital Agartala, the residents of the city will get better services. The standard of living of the common people will improve further. The start of this e-bus service will reduce noise and air pollution. The consequences for future generations will be far-reaching. If air pollution can be reduced, it will bode very well for the environment. Apart from this, there will be a special improvement in the economy of our state. He also said that if this e-bus service is launched, many people will get employment opportunities under this project. As a result, on the one hand, as the transport system will improve, many people will also get work. Hon’ble Prime Minister of the country has taken this initiative keeping in mind environmental sustainability and climate change. In our state, this project will be particularly helpful in expanding the electric transport system. Moreover, it will improve the environment of the cities of our state by being energy efficient and environment friendly transport system.

In the meeting, Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury expressed hope that this dream of the beloved Prime Minister will be realized quickly and will be a great success in our state. He sought the cooperation of all concerned officials for this. Today’s meeting was attended among others by Tripura Government Finance Department Secretary Apoorba Roy, Transport Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Urban Development Department Director Rajat Panth, Transport Department Commissioner Subrata Chowdhury, Tripura Road Transport Corporation and Tripura Urban Transport Corporation Limited Managing Director Dhanbabur Reang, Agartala Municipal Corporation Deputy Municipal Commissioner Subrata Bhattacharjee, Transport Department Deputy Secretary Maitri Debnath, Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) official Ajit Pratap Singh and other officials.
