Eyewitnesses and injured passengers alleged that the vehicle was moving at a high speed while approaching the sharp bend, which ultimately led to the accident. Among those injured, bus contractor Uttam Dasgupta and driver Chandan Roy were reported to be in critical condition. The driver remained trapped inside the mangled vehicle for a considerable period before being rescued.

Five passengers who sustained serious injuries were referred to the Dhalai District Hospital at Kulai for advanced medical treatment. Additionally, 11 injured passengers were admitted to the local sub-divisional hospital, while two others were shifted to the Fatikroy Primary Health Centre. The remaining injured were provided first aid at the scene.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel, along with ambulances, rushed to the accident site immediately after receiving information and carried out rescue and evacuation operations. Local residents also extended support in the rescue efforts.

Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed concern over the incident through a social media post. He stated that he was aware of the bus accident that occurred at Saika Bari under Kamalpur and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured. The Chief Minister assured that the state administration is fully alert and taking all necessary steps to manage the situation effectively. An inquiry into the cause of the accident is expected to be initiated.
