Agartala, July 4:
A teacher at Tulsibati Girls’ School has come under serious scrutiny after allegedly sending several primary students home for not wearing the prescribed Wednesday uniform. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, has sparked widespread outrage among parents and guardians.

According to reports, the school mandates a specific uniform for Wednesdays. However, a few young students arrived in regular attire, reportedly unaware of the rule or due to oversight. Rather than being allowed to attend classes, they were allegedly turned away from the premises.

Deeply disturbed by the treatment of their children, concerned guardians met with the school headmistress on Friday and submitted a formal deputation. They condemned the act as a violation of the students’ right to education and damaging to their emotional well-being.

“Children can make innocent mistakes, and it is the duty of educators to guide them—not punish or shame them,” said one parent during the meeting.

Parents further claimed this was not an isolated incident. They cited previous media reports and complaints indicating a pattern of inappropriate behavior by the same teacher. Many urged authorities to view the issue in a broader context of systemic misconduct.

The deputation included several key demands: the formation of an independent and impartial inquiry committee, the appointment of qualified and empathetic teachers in the primary section, and regular monitoring of teacher behavior. They also stressed the need for better communication between the school administration and parents to prevent such incidents.

In a strong show of concern, the guardians submitted a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, requesting his intervention. They called for strict measures to ensure that no child in Tulsibati Girls’ School—or any other educational institution—is ever denied their right to education over such issues.
