Notably, Padma Shri Thanga Darlong did not receive the state honor he was supposed to receive after his death. Especially from the family it is known that no arrangements have been made by the Unakoti District Magistrate, Kailashahar Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the District Superintendent of Police. Thanga Darlong’s family was cremated without state honours. But this is very disappointing. It is strongly condemned because Padma Shri Thanga Darlong was the pride of Tripura. But the matter of not giving him proper respect will be brought to the attention of the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister. Besides, the family of late Thanga Darlong demanded the central government and the state government to provide housing and drinking water facilities through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
