Agartala: June 05: In response to the Lok Sabha election results, opposition leader Jeetendra Chowdhury expressed his views, characterizing this moment as the first step toward restoring democracy. He emphasized that even greater victories lie ahead.
Chowdhury highlighted the significance of citizens’ role in safeguarding the constitution, considering it a precedent in democratic history. According to him, the BJP’s failure to surpass 300 seats despite their ambitious slogans reflects a substantial defeat. He accused the ruling party of misusing constitutional institutions and financial resources to achieve this outcome.
Regarding the state-specific results, Chowdhury lamented that the hopes and aspirations of the people in Tripura were not adequately represented. The CPM’s performance revealed weaknesses that need addressing in the days to come.
Furthermore, he called for the NDA to form the government, asserting that mere words from Prime Minister Narendra Modi would no longer suffice. Respect for coalition partners is essential moving forward.
