Agartala August 1: The police of Amarpur Birganj police station seized 8.9 grams of heroin in a raid based on secret information. The police seized this huge amount of heroin after a three-hour raid from Monday evening. According to the police, a large amount of heroin was stored in the house of Pintu Das in Shankarpally area of Amarpur town.

Based on this news, Amarpur sub-divisional police officer Devanjali Roy, OC Jayanta Das of Birganj police station and TSR went to search the house of Pintu Das when he sensed the presence of the police and ran away. However, the police caught Pintu’s associate Bappi Debnath with 8.9 grams of heroin and brought him to the police station. After searching, 588 more empty boxes were also recovered from him. Police said the estimated market value of the seized heroin would be Rs 25,000. However, the police could not nab the main accused till the time of writing. The police failed.
