No illegal activity in the market would not be tolerated:AMC Mayor

Agartala: Feb 04: Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Deepak Majumder visited Lake Chowmuhani market today and issued a strong warning to the market committee, stating that any illegal activity in the market would not be tolerated.

A discussion meeting was organized on Wednesday by Mayor Deepak Majumder with traders to discuss the development of Lake Chowmuhani market and to prevent illegal activities. Market traders, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, other officials of the department, respected Corporator Bhaswati Debbarma, 7-Ramnagar Mandal President Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the Secretary of the market management committee were present at the meeting.

 

Mayor Deepak Majumder stated that the meeting aimed to discuss the development of Lake Chowmuhani market into a modern and advanced market. He emphasized the need for cooperation from the traders to achieve this goal.

 

He also mentioned that several complaints had been received from various traders and local residents against the market management committee. He assured that steps would be taken to stop illegal activities in the market.

 

During the meeting, the traders highlighted various problems of the market and their proposals to the Mayor. The Mayor assured them that their problems would be addressed and reiterated that illegal activities in the market would be stopped.
