Following the oath-taking, the first meeting of the newly elected members was conducted. During this meeting, Supriya Das Dutta was elected as the Chairperson of the Sipahijala District Council, and Pintu Aich as the Vice-Chairperson. Both then took their oaths.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the ceremony and spoke about the benefits of decentralization of power. He emphasized that decentralization transfers power from the Parliament to the Legislative Assembly and from the Legislative Assembly to the Panchayat, ultimately benefiting the people. Dr. Saha highlighted that witnessing the oath-taking ceremony in person demonstrated the true meaning of decentralization. He noted that with 75% of the country’s population living in villages, a strong Panchayat system is crucial for the strength of the state and the country. He urged the newly elected members to work wholeheartedly for the welfare of the people, keeping in mind every word of their oath.

Other attendees included MLA Bindu Debnath, MLA Kishor Barman, MLA Tofazzal Hossain, Sipahijala District Magistrate Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, District Police Superintendent B.J. Reddy, District Panchayat Officer Nivedita Bhowmik, and others.
