Agartala, July 31: A high-level delegation of ministers and senior government officials on Friday reviewed healthcare facilities at the South District Hospital in Santirbazar, expressing satisfaction with the quality of medical services and highlighting the recent addition of advanced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) facilities.

The inspection team included Santirbazar MLA Pramod Reang, Health Secretary Dr. Kiran Gitte, South Tripura District Magistrate P. Sajjad, Chief Medical Officer Dr. J. M. Das, and Medical Superintendent Dr. H. Mog. The delegation conducted a detailed inspection of the hospital’s infrastructure and interacted with doctors, healthcare workers, and hospital administrators.

During the visit, the officials toured key departments, including the laboratory and diagnostic services, male and female wards, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU). Hospital authorities briefed the delegation on patient care services, the availability of medical equipment, and the functioning of various departments, particularly those handling emergency and critical care.

The delegation reviewed the hospital’s preparedness to provide quality healthcare services and assessed the measures taken to strengthen medical infrastructure in the district. Officials also discussed the need for continuous improvement in healthcare delivery to meet the growing needs of the local population.

Following the inspection, the visiting representatives praised the hospital administration and healthcare staff for their commitment to delivering efficient and quality medical services. They commended the efforts of doctors, nurses, technicians, and other frontline health workers, noting that their dedication has played a crucial role in improving healthcare outcomes in South Tripura.

A key highlight of the visit was the inauguration and operational review of the newly established ICU and CCU facilities. Equipped with modern medical technology, the units are expected to significantly improve the hospital’s ability to handle emergency cases, critical illnesses, and cardiac patients requiring specialized treatment.

Officials said the addition of these facilities marks a major step forward in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in South Tripura. They expressed confidence that residents will now have better access to advanced emergency and cardiac care closer to home, reducing the need for referrals to hospitals outside the district.

The visit reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and ensuring quality medical services are available to people across Tripura.
