Guwahati, May 12: Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday congratulated the newly sworn-in BJP-led government in Assam and expressed confidence that the state would continue its rapid development journey under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Sarma took oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term as the BJP-led NDA returned to power in the state for the third straight time after securing a decisive mandate in the recently concluded Assembly elections.

The grand swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Chief Ministers and senior leaders from 22 NDA-ruled states.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated the new government and said Assam would continue to scale new heights of development. Union Minister Chirag Paswan praised Sarma’s leadership, saying it aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of accelerating growth and progress in the state.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis termed the NDA’s victory a matter of great joy and said the people had endorsed the development work carried out under the leadership of Modi and Sarma.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the Prime Minister’s leadership has inspired confidence across the country and noted that the people of Assam had rewarded good governance with a historic mandate.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also extended their best wishes, expressing confidence that Assam would continue to progress under Sarma’s leadership.

Several other NDA leaders, including Upendra Kushwaha, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Diya Kumari and NCP MP Praful Patel, congratulated the Chief Minister and expressed hope that the new government would further strengthen Assam’s development and transform the state into a leading growth engine in the Northeast.
