According to him, the state government is committed to protect the cultural heritage of Tripura. Therefore, taking the responsibility of the Tourism Minister, I visited the Pushpabanta Palace, the memorial of the poet Rabindranath Tagore, a witness of many histories. Tripura government has taken initiative to develop this heritage building as Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya Museum.

He claimed that not only a national level museum but also a cultural center is being built here. A museum and cultural center of this national level will be nourished by the rich cultural heritage of the Northeast, fine arts of Southeast Asia, contemporary photography, national and international archives, etc. A separate gallery will also be made for it.

He said that the building will be built with the ability to withstand any adverse weather conditions. The entire museum will be monitored by CCTV. According to him, Pushpabanta Palace is being developed as a museum. Here will be presented various works of memory of Ravi Tagore. According to him, the government has initially allocated Tk 40.13 crore to develop the erstwhile Raj Bhavan Pushpabanta Palace as a national level museum.

He said, this flowery palace bears the testimony of many history and traditions. He strongly believes that once the palace is developed as a national level museum and cultural centre, it will definitely become one of the main tourist attractions in Tripura from home and abroad and a new chapter will begin.
