National Election Commission announces date for elections to 12 vacant Rajya Sabha seats in nine states

Agartala: August 07: The National Election Commission has announced the dates for the elections to 12 vacant Rajya Sabha seats in nine states. Voting will be held in nine Rajya Sabha constituencies including Tripura on September 3. The official notification of the election will be issued on August 14.

Today the National Election Commission has issued a notification. Tripura, Assam, Bihar, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Odisha will hold Rajya Sabha elections on September 3.

 

Last date for submission of nomination papers is 21st August. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on August 22. August 26 is the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers in Assam, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Similarly, the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers in Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, Rajasthan and Haryana is August 27. Voting will be held on September 3 from 9 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will be from 5 pm on that day. All the electoral processes will be completed by September 6.
